PA/VA equipment specialist Ateis UK has provided three Messenger L loudspeakers to the Brit Oval in London.
The speakers are designed to produce the required sound levels from public address systems but also keep noise disruption to a minimum for residents in the surrounding area.
With formats such as Twenty20 increasing in popularity, there are many more evening matches than in previous years.
With this in mind, the three units project sound in a seven-degree 'beam', which is directed down into the stands rather than into the open air.
Tests held at the ground concluded that Ateis' speakers were able to reduce the sound level by 15dB yet still deliver enough volume to those inside the ground.
